AMERICAN TOWNSHIP, ALLEN COUNTY, OHIO — A Saturday morning fire in American Township left one person hospitalized and caused extensive damage to a home on Fraunfelter Road.
The American Township Fire Department responded promptly to reports of a working house fire. Upon arrival, firefighters entered the smoke-filled structure and successfully rescued a resident, who was immediately transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center for treatment. Their condition remains unknown at this time.
Initial investigations reveal that the fire originated in the garage before spreading, leaving smoke damage throughout the entire house. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
