Taylor Swift makes $250,000 donation to Kansas City nonprofit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Taylor Swift has once again shown her generosity, making a significant impact on Kansas City families this holiday season with a $250,000 donation to Operation Breakthrough, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting urban-core families.

The organization shared the news on social media Saturday, featuring touching messages of gratitude from children. “Thank you, @taylorswift13, for making our holiday season shine even brighter! Your kindness and thoughtful $250K donation means the world to our children and families,” the post read.

Swift’s connection to Operation Breakthrough runs deeper, as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, has been a longtime supporter. Kelce’s foundation, 87 and Running, helped fund the nonprofit’s Ignition Lab in 2021—a space for teens to engage in STEM projects. Recently, children in the program converted a 1969 Chevelle SS into a fully electric vehicle, which Kelce drove to a Kansas City Chiefs home game.

Operation Breakthrough provides essential care and support to over 700 children each week, ranging in age from six weeks to 18 years. The nonprofit empowers families through advocacy, education, and emergency aid, with more than 70% of the families it serves living on less than $12,000 annually.

This generous donation came just over a week after Swift visited Children’s Mercy Hospital, where she spent time with young patients, signed autographs, made TikTok videos, and connected with their families.

Swift also attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 16 win against the Houston Texans hours before the donation announcement. Her actions continue to spread holiday cheer and highlight the spirit of giving, inspiring others to support causes that make a difference in their communities.
